MEN OF PEACE
"I don't know how to save the world. I don't have the answers or The Answer. I hold no secret knowledge as to how to fix the mistakes of generations past and present. I only know that without compassion and respect for all Earth's inhabitants, none of us will survive - nor will we deserve to." Leonard Peltier

HYENAS VS. IMPALAS

We are being eaten alive (figuratively speaking, of course). Gun control, anyone?

HYENAS VS. IMPALAS

There has been a common misconception about the nature of the American political spectrum. In a naive man’s view, the American electorate is like a coin with its two opposing sides, the Left and the Right. At times of elections, one of the two sides of the coin ends up on the top and the respective party prevails, much like in a football game when one team wins and another loses. After the game, the teams and their fans go home and life returns to normal until the rematch during which the losing side has a chance to recover its loss. That familiar pattern, typical for sportsmen-like competitions, is supposed to describe the American elections, according to the said misconception.

The above simplistic view presumes some kind of symmetry between the Left and the Right, and the parties, the Democrats and the Republicans, that represent them. But this popular assumption is false as there is about as much symmetry between the Left and the Right in America as there is between hyenas and impalas. Not much, that is.

In African savannas, spotted hyenas often share habitat with their prey, impalas being one of the major species in that category. Since the hyenas are not capable of (or willing to) digesting grass and leaves and to produce protein of that abundant source of organic matter, in order for them to survive, they have to take and use the protein produced by species that are capable of doing so. This makes them perpetual takers. Their taking is accomplished by eating other animals, both dead and alive. And impalas, the protein makers, are an excellent source of protein for hyenas.

The problem with hyenas’ survival strategy is that the impalas, in their species-centric insensitivity to hyenas’ needs, usually do not like being eaten, even though it would prevent starvation among the hyenas. They (the impalas) have developed traits that make it very difficult for the needy hyenas to eat them. They exhibit xenophobia, specism, and other form of obvious discrimination against the hyenas. They have a natural tendency to flee when a pack of hyenas moves in to where they live, which promotes species separatism. All these strongly suggest a large dose of anti-hyena hate, as well as ignorance of a need to preserve savanna’s ecological balance, on part of the impalas.

As a result, the hyenas become desperate in their quest for protein for themselves and their offspring. Faced with impalas’ refusal to share the vital ingredients of life, they have no choice but to take forcefully what that the impalas do not want to give voluntarily to them. So they are forced to chase, capture, and eat impalas, becoming - out of necessity - quite vicious and brutal the process, as the video below illustrates. And, you know, it is not hyenas’ fault that they cannot produce protein they need from the grass. Hyenas do need impalas to survive, although impalas can survive on their own even without the hyenas.

Hyena attack and Eats Antelope Alive Brutal Kill

The above bears some resemblance of the mutual relationship between the Left and the Right (which in the U.S. is mostly comprised of all those who are not on the Left; those vocally opposed to the core absurdities of the Left’s ideology are referred to as the far or extreme Right). The base constituency of the Left are the takers who are unable or unwilling to produce enough wealth to subsist themselves and their dependents. A model beneficiary of Left’s redistributive agenda is a social unit (be it and individual, a family, a group, or a nation) that during his/its lifetime (or other sufficiently long period) produces less than he/it consumes. The base constituency of the Rights are the makers who are able to subsist themselves without pre-empting wealth produced and accumulated by others. A model member of the Right is a social unit (be it and individual, a family, a group, or a nation) that during his/its lifetime (or other sufficiently long period) produces at least as much as he/it consumes. From that perspective, the members of the Left are the collective liability and the members of the Right are the collective assets for the society (or the world).

Not surprisingly, many of those on the Right do not like when the fruits of their or their ancestors’ work are being taken away from them and redistributed among the Left’s beneficiaries. The said reluctance of the Right to share with the Left forces the latter to resort to involuntary means of redistribution of wealth on behalf of the needy and their children. That may, occasionally, lead to violence and brutality that are supposed to encourage and facilitate the said redistribution, although in the U.S. we haven’s seen nearly as much of these, yet, as some other nations (particularly, those in Third World) have.

In turn, the Left’s violence and brutality, however infrequent they may occur, fuel xenophobia, bigotry, and other form of discrimination against the needy beneficiaries of the Left’s redistributive efforts and their advocates. In order to counter that, the so-called “mainstream” media presents selective images of the reality that paint the Left’s protégées (preferably, children) as benign and deserving beings, which many of them are, I suppose. There is disproportionately little media coverage of violent crime and other atrocities committed by some of those after they fully grow up.

The following video of hyena cubs (please do not construe it as a suggestion that there is any kind of equality between the hyenas and the Left or its beneficiaries; after all, the former are wild animals and the latter are comprised of civilized human beings) illustrate how selective reporting may distort the image of the reality, prompting one to see hyenas not as a vicious predators but as adorable pets. As they say, one man’s hooligan is another man’s social justice warrior.

But even those who see young hyenas as cute and friendly creatures may be caught by a surprise when the cubs grow up and, gradually, become aggressive, as it begins to show on the following video.

We are often bombarded with the “social peace” propaganda that blames the makers and their selfishness for all (or most of) the social problems of the world. We are being told that in order to co-exist in harmony, we must extinct all our reservations about wealth redistribution and its involuntary means of enforcement, and give up any means of defense of ourselves and our property. Supposedly, if we are weak, nice, and inclusive towards the takers (actual and prospective), they will return the favor and lay down their weapons, and stop being nasty and aggressive towards us. But such a theory is a bunch of unproven nonsense.

The Left will never rest in their relentless efforts to pre-empt more and more for their larger and larger constituency, the growth of which is being fueled by the generous handouts. They will never leave us alone as long as they have any influence or power at their disposal. And the more we give in, the stronger and more threatening they become. The only reason why the Left tolerates the Right is that the Left needs the fruits of the Right’s work in order to survive (this is why all Leftist economies collapsed, eventually), although the Right can survive even without the Left’s assistance. Any lasting and peaceful co-existence of the Left and the Right is a delusion that has been illustrated by the first video in this article. (The first half of that video is relatively less graphic, but still viewers’ discretion is advised.)

Well, although the nonsensical “logic” of the Left and outright stupidity of its ideology and useful idiots may be illustrated by many videos of African wildlife, any comparisons between the actual actors in American politics on one side and wild animals on the other sides are inappropriate and wrong. Even the worst human being in the recorded history of mankind was not nearly as reprehensible as a hyena feeding on its alive prey. (I am sure some animal lovers will disagree.) But when I watch the following video, I cannot help thinking that it illustrates, however implicitly and figuratively, what is happening to the majority of Americans (a.k.a. the makers) these days. We are being eaten alive (figuratively speaking, of course). Gun control, anyone?
